1. Of course, I have to start with the debut of Charleston Magazine’s Charleston Fashion Week last March. Five nights of fashion, models, beautiful who’s who, CLOTHES, and Laura Bennett, finalist from Bravo’s Project Runway! Honestly, I still don’t recall how I made it through from Tuesday all the way to Saturday participating each night at the shows and then the after parties along with half the city! It was like a marathon of fashion and fabulositiy!

2. This year runway left the building! Historic landmark runways are the new chic! My favorite moment to watch on you tube of course is the Fendi show atop the Great Wall of China in October and then there was the Pierre Cardin show (the day after) in the Gobi Desert! Time for me to dust off my passport!

3. In September, Badgley Mischka celebrated the launch of their Resort ’08 line with Saks Fifth Avenue with a runway show and cocktails. I had the pleasure, no the honor, of interview the Hollywood-glam design duo for all of the readers of the Style Blog! So much fashion in our own back yard, kids!

Here I Am[1]

4. My New York Fashion Week dream came true and I finally made it to Bryant Park last September! I saw countless celebs (Nigel Barker I heart you!), chatted with Tim Gunn, basked in the runway lights, and fell deep into a fashion coma. However the most invigorating moment hands down, is when I got stopped TWICE by the Fashion Paparazzi.

5. As a fashionista on a budget and not ashamed to say so, this year of top designer’s affordable lines was like manna from heaven. 2007’s Target Go International featured Patrick Robinson, Libertine, Alice Temperley, and Erin Fetherston! H&M hit this trendy mark by presenting collections by Madonna and most recently, Roberto Cavalli! This year even Payless jumped on the bandwagon with shoe collections by Lela Rose and Abaeté and let’s not forget the limited collection by Sex and The City stylist, Patricia Fields! So many designers and a girl doesn’t even have to break the bank!

Lacoste Model Encore

6.This years Lacoste street-side runway show on King Street revealed cute and furry showstoppers! The adoptable Pet Helpers Pups hesitantly trotted down the runway alongside the models and stole the hearts of everyone. DJ Moo Moo spun the tunes and the paparazzi snapped pics care of Austin Walker!

7.OK. Somebody may have to resuscitate me after I write this. This year at London Fashion Week, Prince, performed live at Matthew Williamson’s 10th anniversary show! Apparently he showed up 15 minutes before and it was on! Word is that he began his performance from his front row seat! Does this mean that there is hope for Charleston Fashion Week? Sigh!

8. Victoria Beckham is like a fashion goddess in my world. Can you really deny that she has put a major stamp on fashion? Who isn’t wearing the Beckham bob these days (including myself at the moment?)? One of my favorite fashion moments was airing of Victoria Beckham: Coming To America. Favorites scenes include the opening scene of course with a shirtless David Beckham on a photo shoot, the DMV scene (who takes a hair and makeup artist for a license pic), and her baseball debut. But nothing tops Mrs. Beckham’s WARDROBE! Wow! I may actually want in on those Spice Girl tickets!

9. Kathryn Heigl wins at the 2007 Emmy Awards wearing Zac Posen and carrying a Mary Norton Clutch! Everyone knows I adore Zac Posen but how fab was it that she was carrying a clutch by Charleston’s own Mary Norton!

10. Project Runway is FINALLY back on the air! Need I say more? (I heart you Christian!)

Merry ChrismaHanuKwanzakah! Check back in 2008!
