30paarhaende (literally: 30 pairs of hands) is the fashion label of the University of Applied Sciences FHTW Berlin.

Since 2003 two collections are created annually for the national and international fashion market.

The interdisciplinary project 30paarhaende enables the students of the participating classes and faculties to put into practice concepts developed in the course of the studies in a realistic environment.

The aspiring fashion designers und the students of other courses, such as Clothing Technology/Fabric Processing, Business Administration, Communications Design, Business Communication Management and International Media and Computing, take part in the development and marketing of the collection.

The 30paarhaende label is meant to be a fashion line in the upmarket genre of women’s outer garments. Consisting of approx. 30 pieces, the collection is being developed in the traditional pre-order rhythm of two seasons per year.

The collection is aimed at self-confident, strong and responsible women of 30 years and up who strive to underline their personality with their sense of fashion. However, the target group can hardly be defined by rigid socio-demographic features.

The product relates to the target group’s need for intellectual discourse with design, art and fashion, as well as contemporary events.

The experimental design principles are derived from a source of inspiration with a current reference. Set-off silhouettes guarantee the wearability of the collection. By using only modern and high-quality materials and an according processing, the innovative and sophisticated character of the collection emerges.

The whole production takes place in Berlin-based textile companies.

30paarhaende participates in the trade shows Premium+ and INSIDE WHITE (Milan) and is presented in its own showrooms in Berlin (Friedrichshain) and Paris. The collections are sold domestically and internationally.
