Designers Jayson Brunsdon, Kit Willow Michelmore of Willow and Ksubi's Dan Single were there to cheer Sarah-Jane Clarke and Heidi Middleton at New York Fashion Week yesterday.

The pair returned to the city with their autumn-winter collection after a season away while Middleton successfully battled breast cancer.

She returned to work last June and soon after took an inspirational trip to Paris with the fruits of that venture on show on the catwalk.

"It's really great to be back here with Sarah-Jane," Middleton said.

Her partner agreed.

"We always say the magic is there when we're together," Clarke said.

Along with sass & bide's signature slimline style and singlet-style dresses, there was a return to volume in puffball skirts.

"We were inspired by '50s dresses that we had seen in Paris," Middleton said.

While hemlines were high, length came in fine flowing coats.

New York Fashion Week also attracted celebrities such as Nikki Hilton.
