Lela Rose
I loved the bedheady, quiff-tastic buns at Lela Rose, which reminded me of Brad Pitt in Johnny Suede (no, that’s not a bad thing). They had a boozy, wild tinge to them, and, paired with the rock-and-mineral tones of the cocktail dresses, they somehow looked more futuristic than retro. —April Long, ELLE Senior Beauty Editor

Thakoon
Love the static-tastic, matte waves hairstylist Eugene Souleiman created for Thakoon. It’s slightly dressier than bedhead, and sexier. The secret? Tons of hair powder! —Maura Lynch, ELLE Associate Beauty Editor

Lacoste
The high side-ponies and Lacoste could have skewed too ’80s (or too Lady Sovereign), but instead, they had a crisp, cool forward-looking effect. Paired with the bold, smoky eye makeup, they looked sporty, flirty, and fun, in a sort of “I’ll beat you at tennis and then drink you under the table later” kind of way. —April Long, ELLE Senior Beauty Editor

Prabal Gurung
First of all, I want Siri Tollerod’s haircut, and secondly—how awesome does her cut look with this futuristic faux-hawk? After designer Prabal Gurung saw her in the full hair and makeup, he wanted all the models to get blunt cuts like her (impossible—agencies would have a field day), because it worked so well with his “aggressive, slightly robotic” idea for the show. Regardless of the fact that not everyone can have Siri’s amazing hair, Bumble and Bumble Stylist Jimmy Paul created the look on models with all hair lengths by taking a section of hair from the temples to the crown, teasing it up, brushing it back, and securing it with pins and lots of spray. —Maura Lynch, ELLE Associate Beauty Editor

Doo.Ri
I adore the fishtail braids created by Orlando Pita backstage at
Doo.Ri. After doing a deep side part, he spun the two-section braids
into the sides of the models’ hair, securing them at the back of the
head. Pita says the texture mimics “the beautiful intricacies and
draping” of the collection. I already foresee the chic, downtown girls
embracing this hairstyle for spring! —Maura Lynch, ELLE Associate Beauty Editor
