Look ‘extra’ up in the dictionary and Blake Lively should really define the term.

The fact that Blake continuously smashes fashion hits out of the park is made even more impressive by the knowledge that she styles herself from head to toe. What. A. Woman.

We also love that she keeps it real. Whilst she serves up sartorial hits on the red carpet, she's never afraid to show us the reality behind the glam. Case in point? This snap she just uploaded from isolation. Blake posted a makeup-free selfie with her hair tangled, alongside the caption 'Get The Look, 2020 Edition', with what appeared to be a GIF of a trash can on fire. Our kinda gal.

After Blake shared a candid snap, we thought it only fitting to take a look back at how her style has totally transformed over the years. The actress is known for scoring hit after sartorial hit on the red carpet, whether she's rocking a red feather and lace Monique Lhuillier gown for the Age of Adaline premiere, or a fluorescent Versace menswear Spring/Summer 2019 suit (seriously, it's just as iconic as it sounds).

And when she's not slaying on the red carpet, Blake is never afraid to show her laidback sense of style either. Her street style is casual yet chic, often with a masculine edge to toughen up the look, such as a crisp collared shirt buttoned to the top, with a waistcoat or black blazer.

But aside from her fashion credentials, Blake is always the first to poke fun at herself and it's her self-deprecating nature that's secured her place as one of our all-time favourite celebrities.

For instance, back in 2018, Blake lived up to her lol-a-minute reputation by turning herself into the ultimate 'expectation versus reality' meme.

In her 'expectation' photo, she could be seen sat head of the table donning a diamond-embellished gown, while in her 'reality' shot, she was seen makeup-free wearing a pared back ensemble consisting of jeans and a T-shirt while scoffing fast food in the back of a car. Never change, Blake.

Whether she's rocking a ballgown or low-key look, in our humble opinion, Blake never has a down day so do yourself A Simple Favour (sorry) and take some time out to admire Blake’s greatest garment hits below. We salute you, style queen...

With her signature beachy waves and cool girl style, Blake attended the Michael Kors FW20 Runway Show on 12th February in New York City.

Arriving at ABC's 'Good Morning America' on 28th January 2020 (you know, before the world basically ended), Blake killed it in a neutral ensemble of browns and taupes.

We are obsessed with Blake's street style here and will be going on the hunt for a navy pleated velvet maxi skirt immediately.

Proving she totally nails maternity dressing, Blake attended the Pokemon Detective Pikachu (starring husband Ryan Reynolds) premiere in May 2019, with corkscrew curls and a yellow gown. She was pregnant with the couples' third child, Betty, who was born in October.

It was the premiere of her new film, A Simple Favour, so Blake *had* to steal the show and did so via this killer outfit. Blake subtly showcased her incredible figure in this sheer bodysuit and tailored suit. Blake, we salute you.

Highlighting her cracking knack for pulling together the most extra of tuxedo looks, Blake took this ensemble straight from the Versace Spring/Summer 2019 menswear runway. Tackling the menswear as womenswear trend AND top to toe hues all in one go? Nothing less than iconic.

Blake Lively stepped out for the Michael Kors fashion show during New York Fashion Week with the *perfect* Valentine's Day look - it just so happens that the show actually took place on the 14 Feb! The bright red patent coat is Michael Kors', of course, and the heart-adorned shoes are Louboutin's.

Another excellent yellow look from Blake Lively! For an appearance on Good Morning America, the actress wore a banana yellow Brandon Maxwell look. If there's anyone that can pull off this look, it's Blake.

For New York Fashion Week, Blake Lively clashed her prints in the best way possible. Houndstooth, check and polka dot? Sure.

Blake chose a more daring dress for an appearance on The Today Show, a cut-out look with a pretty pleated skirt.

Blake looked amazing at the American Ballet Theatre Spring Gala in NYC in a bright yellow Oscar De La Renta gown. Only Blake could pull this off.

Blake shows the world how to do maternity chic in her Carolina Herrera pompom dress at the Cafe Society premiere in Paris.

Pretty as a picture in a colourful, embroidered summer dress and studded heels.

Blake wore a super feminine, fitted dress in orange and Sophia Webster heels for a stroll around New York - she's so polished.

She wore a sequinned Diane von Furstenberg dress for a night out in New York in July 2016.

... This navy mini dress (complete with laced up shoulders) plus a perm = perfection with an '80s twist.

Another day, another two killer outfits from Blake Lively...

Blake Lively proved that burgundy isn't just for the winter months whilst doing press for her upcoming movie, The Shallows in New York. Lady like and stunning.

Can someone tell us how she managed to get her bump in a corseted dress, please?

On another occasion, Blake wore this princess-like embellished mini dress with a decorative handbag. Very Serena.

While on the promo trail for her film The Shallows, Blake rocked numerous outfits while in NYC. One of which was this lemon coloured dress with a denim jacket. She's acing maternity style, right?

While out in NYC, Blake Lively stepped out in a decadent poppy-embellished red dress. You're making us excited for summer, Blake!

Blake attended the 2016 amfAR New York Gala with her husband Ryan Reynolds, and as usual, she looked perfect! This gorgeous white embellished dress is the stuff of dreams.

A look that could veer dangerously into Moulin Rouge territory, but Mrs Reynolds looked every inch the starlet in this red feather and lace Monique Lhuillier for the Age of Adaline red carpet.

A lesser woman might have shied away from this Cuba-meets-the-Riviera Lindsey Thornburg dress, but not Blake, who styled it with baby blue pumps and bold jewellery.

Not many could pull-off this vintage inspired look, but Mrs Reynolds makes a victory roll hairstyle, printed palm leaf jumpsuit and Charlotte Olympia sandals look super fresh.

In a sleek embellished Antonia Berardi dress for the Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, Blake proved she can nail a polished look. Take note: not all new mothers look like this.

A plunging yellow maxi dress showed off Blake’s burgeoning baby bump at the Angel Ball in New York.

This was Blake’s first red carpet appearance since announcing her pregnancy and, we think you’ll agree, we couldn’t have hoped for more from the stylish starlet. The floral tulle gown was from the Michael Kors Resort 2015 collection.

Blake wasn’t going to let pregnancy stand in the way of some killer sartorial choices. In a voluminous print jacket combined with a mini skirt and knee-high boots, Blake kicked frumpy maternity smock dresses to the curb.

Blake proved her impeccable style credentials at the CDFA Fashion Awards in 2014, channelling the swinging sixties in a Michael Kors get-up styled with killer accessories, a vamped-up blowdry, pink lip and smoky eyes.

A statement skirt and vest combination equalled easy-breezy glamour at the Turbo premiere.

Now even off-duty Blake never puts a foot-wrong.

The actress chose figure-hugging colour-blocking for the 2012 MTV Awards, wearing a cobalt blue, neoprene Michael Kors dress and purple suede Louboutins.

Demonstrating that fashion should be fun (and showing off her killer legs in the process), Blake hit the 2010 Met Ball in blue ruffled Marchesa.

Drop. Dead. Gorgeous, in red Chanel for The Town premiere.

We would say the best accessory is a smile but with this Matthew Williamson embellished top it’s tough competition. Blake got it just right for a TV appearance in 2010.

This grey Lanvin dress looked like it was made for Ms Lively.

Proof that the actress can look just as gorgeous with an unfussy ‘do, in a simple blue playsuit and nude heels. Effortless.

Blake’s awkward stance on the 2009 Golden Globes red carpet suggests that she wasn't too happy in her blue strapless embellished Nina Ricci dress. Don’t worry Blake, you found your feet.

Flowing locks, a subtle golden glow and a boho orange Gucci maxi dress. The girl was already giving good red carpet at The Sisterhood Of The Traveling Pants 2 premiere in July 2008.

Blake had her first Chanel moment in a pretty LLD at the 2008 Tribeca Film Festival. We’re not loving the shoes, but it was early days.

When Blake hit our screens as Serena Van der Woodsen in Gossip Girl, there came a stream of knock-out, figure-hugging dresses and effortlessly boho ensembles. She was the perfect contrast to the preppy Blair Waldorf, and a serious style crush was born.

Blake Lively may now snigger at the sight of her 2005 The Sisterhood of the Travelling Pants promo outfit of choice, but it was the noughties and handkerchief tops reigned supreme don’t forget.
