The Seoul Fashion Artists Association (SFAA) will hold its own Seoul Collection on Nov. 20-22, while Pret-a-Porter Busan will be held on Nov. 29-30.

SFAA's Seoul Collection kicks off Tuesday at the National Theater of Korea, with a total of 16 shows to be held over three days. Top designers such as Rubina, Jin Teok, Park Youn-soo, Chang Kwang-hyo and Sul Yun-hyoung will present their latest creations.

The SFAA fashion shows will be held in two separate tents on the grounds of the National Theater of Korea. This is the first time for the fashion shows to be held outdoors.

SFAA members are holding their own fashion event this year, after withdrawing from last month's Seoul Collection, organized by the Seoul government.

Tickets for the event range from 25,000 won to 30,000 won, and are available on http://ticket.interpark.com (Korean only).

Meanwhile, Pret-a-porter Busan has more international flavor, bringing together eleven designers from Paris, Tokyo, Beijing, Seoul and Busan for a two-day event at the Busan Exhibition and Convention Center (BEXCO).

There has been much interest in the collection to be unveiled by Paris-based Korean designer Jaison. This is the first time for Jaison to hold a fashion show for his brand Jaison Couture in Korea.

French designer Christophe Guillarme, known for his ultra-feminine style, is expected to bring key pieces from his spring/summer collection ``Siren Song'' that was originally presented in Paris last month.

Frankie Xie became the first Chinese designer to participate in Paris Fashion Week, when he showcased his Jefen brand's ready-to-wear collection in 2006. Japanese designer Minoru Adachi will showcase pieces from his brand Mode Acote. Park Choon-moo, who is based in Seoul, will present a collection inspired by the sun and moon, for the brand Demoo.

Also participating in Pret-a-Porter Busan are Busan-based designers Seo Soon-nam and Lee Young-hee. Rising designers Lee Mi-kyung, Jung Young-won, Lee Jong-chul and La Sae-young have also been given the chance to showoff their talents.

Pret-a-Porter Busan will have a total of eight fashion shows, a trend presentation from trends forecasting agency Promostyl and a B-boy performance by Last For One.

Model Center International chairman Toh Shin-woo said the Pret-a-porter Busan hopes raise the port city's profile as one of the fashion capitals in the world. The event is also a marketplace for designers and buyers, as well as a launching pad for foreign designers to enter the Korean market.
