Maria Grazia Chiuri's creations for Dior's Pre-Fall 2021 collection recently traveled to Shanghai Fashion Week, one of the few countries in the world where massive events are taking place and without the prevailing social distance restrictions. The show became a disco dream to receive the collection inspired by Richard Hamilton's Pop Art and Marco Lodola's New Futurism style, all set to music by Giorgio Moroder and with performances by Hong Kong pop star Joey Yung and rock band Black Panther.

Of the 75 looks that cross the stage, the makeup was, as always, charged by Peter Phillips, who opted to invert the traditional outline of the upper eyelid towards the lower lashes.

“I did a heightened eyeliner as the focus of everything. For that, I used matte black Diorshow On Stage Liner 091, drew a dense black line horizontally, and pulled inward towards the inner corner of the eye. Next, I filled the waterline with Diorshow 24h Stylo Matte Black and added the finishing touch to this look by structuring the brows with Diorshow Browstyler to naturally frame the face."

Phillips' proposal for the lips was much more natural, “I only hydrated them with Rouge Dior Satin Balm 000 Dior Natural and when more color was needed I applied Rouge Dior 434 Satin Promenade."
