The rechristened business unit will now cover home care, animal care, household & institutional and industrial care.
Shift in demand
Meeting growing demand beyond its cosmetics and personal care lines from existing customers prompted the expansion of the business.
"So many personal care product manufacturers are expanding into the H & I and industrial care markets, so it was natural for us to accommodate the trend," said Christina Fiduccia, the group's newly appointed vice president of sales.
Economies of scale
In addition to allowing the company to respond to shifting demand from finished product manufacturers, the move is expected to be beneficial from an economies of scale perspective.
"And since we're able to collaborate with experts from our Advanced Materials Group, our collective sales volume, buying power and technical expertise provide exactly what our constituency demands from us," added Fiduccia.
Beyond cosmetics and personal care the E.T. Horn Company already manufactures raw materials and chemicals for use in coatings, building materials, elastomers, lubrication, nutrition and food products.
