Figleaves, the world's largest online lingerie store, has announced that it is to open a new section called 'Greenleaves', dedicated to greener products. A number of established eco-friendly brands will be included in the range, with an emphasis on sustainable yet seductive fabrics; Greenleaves goes live on 3rd March.
Whether you want day-to-day undies or alluring glamour-wear, you'll be
able to find it in the new department. It'll stock everything from
knickers and bras to sleepwear, men's underwear and maternity products.
In terms of labels, there are several niche 'eco' labels represented
here, including
Green Knickers,
Enamore and
Eco Boudoir. In addition to these, the section will stock the 'greener' lines from more mainstream lingerie brands like
Chantelle and
Eberjey.
I had a look at the range today, and it's great to see so many
alternative fabrics being used as a change from the usual cotton and
polyester: bamboo, hemp, organic cotton and soya jersey are all used in
the range, providing a whole host of new sensations and styles.
Figleaves itself is committed to a more sustainable future, and is
currently undergoing an eco-audit to ensure its practises are
environmentally friendly as possible. Its dispatch boxes, for example,
are now made from recycled paper and all returns are recycled.
