Ann Dillday, who works at a Dallas university, keeps her makeup at least one year. But 25-year-old Ani Vera says she changes her makeup every, "Six weeks. I feel it needs to be clean if it's going on my face. I try to change my makeup out regularly," she explained.
Cosmetics aren't required to carry expiration dates, but Dr. Bowers and Consumer Reports Magazine make the following recommendations:
Blush - Toss after two to three years
Eyeliner - Toss it after three months
Foundation - Toss after six months-1 year
Lipstick - Toss after one or two years
Cream Eye Shadow, Lip Glosses, and Concealer - Toss after 18months
