You may recognise her as the face of Furla’s latest campaign, or for her work in cinema and for Italian born model and actress Greta Ferro beauty comes in many forms.
What is your morning beauty routine?
I wake up, I brush my teeth and wash my face with cold water, then apply a toner, a serum and an oxygenating cream with sun protection.
What is your night beauty routine?
Brush my teeth for at least five minutes, then remove my makeup using eau micellaire, lightly massage my face with a face detergent and remove the remaining with a wet pad, then I apply the toner to my skin and finish with a deep hydrating cream.
Describe what you do for a living? What does a typical day look like for you?
There really isn’t a typical day! Haha! I’m an actress and a model, I usually organise my days depending on my auditions, my fashion shoots and the filming of projects. I try to be as organised as possible so when I’m not on set I train, I take singing lessons, drama lessons, and I study as much as possible for my acting classes and for my university (I’m also trying to graduate in economics and management!).
You are the face of Furla’s new campaign. What was it like shooting this?
It was really good, my first shooting after quarantine. It felt crazy at first to be around so many people but with social distancing, gloves, masks... But the team was great, we had so much fun. It was amazing to get back to work.
What does self love mean for you?
Self consciousness, I’d say. To be connected with yourself, with your emotions, with your goals. And if you are connected with yourself, you respect yourself and your needs, whatever they are.
How does this manifest in your work? And if you love life?
You do well, you succeed, I guess. Same if you love life. I mean, how can you not? If everyone started appreciating and respecting the people around them and the diversity there is, we would live in a better world. No doubts about that. But we are so self-centred we are unable to feel for others anymore.
What is your main form of beauty body maintenance? What products do you use on your body?
I scrub my body and I hydrate it as much as I can. But, trust me, the best beauty tip I can give you is to walk, walk, walk. Walking is so good for your body, for your legs and… For your butt!
How do you keep fit/ healthy? Does exercise form a large part of your routine?
Unfortunately I’m not too good at being constant in my activities, it depends on my schedule. But I’m now very close to finding the best combination for my soul and body. I do body-weight exercises and I’ve just started yoga. And I want to go back to swimming, it makes me just feel so good. My body is used to sports because since I was a kid I had been practising a lot, that helps with its toning because the body, the muscles have a memory, so mine changes very easily.
What cosmetic procedures/ professional treatments do you have as part of your beauty routine?
I just get a good facial from time to time, but for now I don’t think I need much more. I do whatever my skin needs at home with a very good beauty routine.
What do you do when your body needs to recover?
I recover. I try to listen to myself as much as I can, and it’s a process, I’m still learning. But whenever I feel extremely tired I try to give (if I can) my body some time to rest. Also taking some vitamins has helped.
You’re tired/ hungover/ rundown: what is your beauty hack?
A long shower and a dark, intense eye makeup. That’s how you fake it! And remember to add mascara…
What is the one non-negotiable in your beauty routine?
Time. Routine and self-love take time. Give yourself some time, now and always.
Do you have a beauty icon? Who are they and why?
I will just name one. Jane Birkin. She is effortlessly beautiful and confident, and I love that about her.
What is the best advice on beauty you’ve received?
To love yourself is the best advice. To accept yourself in your imperfections, your wrinkles, your pimples, if there are any. Perfection does not exist, let’s give yourself a break and let’s thank our body for what it’s giving us every day.
What is the best advice on health you’ve received?
Again, to listen and respect my body and soul. Let’s not forget the importance of mental health. If you need it, ask for help. You’ll see there are so many people who are looking for support and who need to be listened to, just like you. My therapist helped me a lot, there’s no shame in that. It takes courage to ask for help and to take a step forward to change ourselves.
What is the one product you can’t live without?
Concealer. And a good lip-balm.
