Fashion labels are hardly known for their watchmaking chops, but that hasn't stopped many brands from making their foray into fine watchmaking. Gucci is the latest brand to try their hand at high-end watches, and we're pleased to say that they've made a rather strong showing.

Introducing the Gucci 25H collection, a series of retro, sport-luxe watches inspired by the heyday of high-end watchmaking. The headliner of the collection is undoubtedly the Gucci 25H automatic steel edition.

The watch's wonderfully architectural silhouette belies more subtle details, like the retro lines that adorn the dial and the slinky, almost industrial link bracelet.

Beneath the hood, the slim watch hides an exclusive automatic movement produced by Kering in La Chaux-de-Fonds, Switzerland - a town widely known as the capital of the watch-making world. Equipped with a micro-rotor, the calibre GG727.25 boasts a rather impressive 60-hour power reserve.

The rest of the watches in the collection are quartz watches, each crafted with an ultra-fine 4mm case - they include a 18kt yellow gold-plated version and a steel one. Another one of our favourites is one with a steel case and a steel brass dial; it also comes in a smaller version that has a diamond-embellished bezel and a white brass dial.
