Hermès' just-unveiled Fall/Winter2021 collection introduces an accessory like no other-the Victoria bag, which is constructed out of a leather alternative known as Sylvania.

A hybrid of nature and biotechnology, Sylvania is the first of a new generation of biotechnological materials born from the exclusive collaboration of Hermès and the Californian company MycoWorks. Derived from mushrooms, the genesis of Sylvania is Fine Mycelium, which is produced at MycoWorks' plant. It is then tanned and finished in France by Hermès tanners to further refine its strength and durability, and then modeled in the workshops by Hermès artisans. The effect is very similar to suede: soft to the touch and high in quality.
