THERE’S an extremely fine line between looking gorgeous and looking garish on your wedding day and the one mistake you can make that will tip you over that line is choosing the wrong jewellery.

Essentially, bridal accessories should be assets for a lifetime and not just something that would become obsolete or fade out of fashion after that special day.

It is now the end of the year which also marks the beginning of their business season, and Habib Jewels recently launched their new collection of ornaments for the bride at their KLCC showroom.

Another beautiful set from the Empress collection.

The bewitching collection called “Empress” is designed to bling rather than blind everyone during the wedding with all pieces set with certified diamonds.
They include finger rings, necklaces, pendants, bracelets, drop earrings and studs, all of which do not look ostentatious.

Said Yasheedah Yashaiya, public relations assistant manager of Habib Jewels: “The Empress collection is available in a variety of designs and at affordable prices. The fascination for jewels over the centuries has made us constantly innovate our designs. But we like to believe our collection is timeless and bound to captivate the heart of every woman.”

She said Habib’s idea of wedding jewellery is something that complements the bride’s personality, adds style and substance and can be cherished for all seasons and reasons.

The diamonds in the Empress collection have fine characteristics in terms of colour and clarity and in terms of carat weight, making excellent hantaran (gifts) as well.

“It is common perception that only the wealthy can afford diamond jewellery as wedding gifts. We want to change this thinking,” said Yasheedah.

Prices start from RM1,450 for a wedding ring. The stones are set in such a way they look like a single piece or a two-carat solitaire. Five diamonds are set together. There are four marquise diamonds with a princess-cut diamond in the centre. It looks just grand.

Diamonds used are nothing less than grade G. The the best diamonds are grade D.

earrings, ring and tennis bracelet.

“If diamonds below grade G are used, the stones would have a yellowish hue. Last year, round diamonds were used. This year most of the sets have oval and marquise-shaped diamonds. The designs are not too over-the-top or elaborate and would complement a wedding gown,” said Yasheedah.

She said a hot favourite that will never go out of fashion are the tennis bracelets priced from RM2,500 onwards.

“Another cause for celebrating the advent of the Empress collection is our anytime buy-back lifetime guarantee. We also do free jewellery cleaning and polishing for our clients,” she added.
