Gladiator sandals

Did you think the gladiator trend was over? One of the most dominant trends of spring/summer 2008 is back again this year. Though it won't be as overwhelming as last year, you will still findplenty of Greco-Roman sandals on store shelves this spring. Gladiator sandals are alright in small doses. But when people start wearing them everyday and everywhere, it does get to be a bit too much.

Studded shoes

Studded boots were popular for fall and that trend will carry well into summer with studded shoes and sandals. Look for shoes embellished with metal studs, big buckles and shiny zippers. It's an edgy trend that has a rock 'n roll aor, but you can tone down the harshness by wearing studded shoes with romantic ruffled tops and other feminine pieces.

Jeweled thong sandals

Thong sandals are a comfortable choice for spring. This year, they get dressed up with crystal embellishments and beaded details. There's also a bit of a tribal influence with Native American-inspired beading and other tribal motifs.

Cut-out booties

If you thought booties were just for fall and winter, you thought wrong. For spring, booties will feature open sides and peeptoes. These cut-out shoes are a good choice if they stick around because budgenistas can wear them throughout the year.
