The changes in fashion proceed more rapidly than in most other fields of human activity and London is a rock in the waves when it comes to the more young and avantgarde side of fashion which is not at least because of the fact that there is some female designer we know as Vivienne Westwood which celebrated some fabulous return to the catwalks of her hometown last week.

At London Fashion Week designers are allowed to take a chance like for example Gareth Pugh who surprises anyone every single season with the most forwarded ideas he presents. London is the place where trends are made and where a guy like Henry Holland prints slogans on T-Shirts which in no time become the must have item for every fashionista around - “UHU GARETH PUGH”.

London is as well the place were international supermodels get born, girls who aren’t just good looking but have the special something like Lily Cole who is as great on the catwalk as behind her Cambridge University desk, Agyness Deyn who has her own head and fascinates by her stylishness and last but not least the godmother of all brisitish fashion models, the plainly fashion icon: Kate Moss.

During the days of London Fashion Week one was to encounter great shows. You could see the return of Biba, one fashion label which was a synonym for the “swinging London” aera, Vivienne Westwood’s “Red Label” presentation which was as well some political statement, Paul Smith - great as ever and Gareth Pugh who again provided one highlight with his designs and in terms of entertainment on the catwalk. There was so many great and forwarded fashion to be seen during those days which provides every professional with some mostly stressfree experience cause the calendar isn’t by far as packed as in other cities. London is more about class than mass and so anyone still had enough energy left at night to attend the numerous parties which accompany every London Fashion Week.

London Fashion Week is always some kind of family get together as you happen to run into many people you know since many years and who always return to this city by the river Thames, maybe because the city’s population is so fashionate. All those stylish people you see on the streets, in the subway or at the restaurants give every person who loves fashion some feeling of moving in a city of like-minded people, some feeling of being at home.

London Fashion Week is as well some special place for the up and coming fashion designers as there are some events like the Fashion Scout catwalks at the Baden-Powell House which is located in the direct neighborhood ot “The Tent” at the Natural History Museum where the main shows are taking place, or the ON|OFF event at the Royal Academy of Arts.

If there is a crisis in fashion industry you had to dig deep to find it during those days and the London event won’t be that much affected like other fashion metropoles because it cares loads for the young talents which are the future of the business. London Fashion Week was and will be worth a travel for the fashionista who is looking for some exciting but yet relaxed week in one of the fashion metropoles of the world.

In the end you never can be quite sure where the road to fashion is heading but London will be for sure one of the destinations it’s crossing during the fashion seasons and years to come.
