I won’t lie, I picked up this news up on Perez Hilton, and I felt I had to post it.  LVMH, parent company of Louis Vuitton, has sued over a Britney Spears music video.

Apparently in a new video for song “Do Somethin”, Britney rolls around in a car upholstered with fake Louis Vuitton fabric, and a close-up focuses on the fabric.  LVMH sued Sony, BMG, Zomba and MTV Online in a French tribunal alleging copyright infringement, and the company won.  LVMH was awarded 80,000 Euros (about $117,000 U.S.) in damages and the right to have the Britney video banned.  The French court stated that Spears herself has no legal liability, and therefore, does not have to pay any portion of the damages.  Nonetheless, she will be undoubtably affected by the video’s ban.
