The event, which begins on February 1st, is set to be a glittering occasion, especially after the red-carpet disappointment of the Golden Globe awards.

Frank Pulice, director of communications at Carmen Marc Valvo, spoke to the Pittsburgh Post Gazette and said that the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week still held its glamorous appeal.

"We have no plans to deviate from our format for Fashion Week," he said.

Tom Julian, director of trends for McCann-Erickson, said he expected more stars to turn up at the prestigious event.

"Maybe we will see more star wattage in the front rows of the shows in New York City, Paris, Milan," he said.

Stars boycotted the Golden Globe Awards ceremony in support of the Hollywood writers’ strike but they are expected to shine at the forthcoming fashion week.

Kim Cattrell, star of Sex And The City, recently spoke at the launch of the new Mercedes-Benz GLK concept car while Eva Padburg has promoted Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week in Berlin, showing the brand’s connections with fashion and style.
