TROPIC SINGLE EYESHADOW
Within each shade of the color spectrum lies an infinite amount of
possibilities. Just consider the myriad varieties of the color
blue—powdery and pale, classic navy, electric aqua. But for the latest
eye shadow, there was only one blue François Nars had in mind. “The
tropics are always inspiring for me,” says Nars. “I live part of my
life in Tahiti and the Polynesian Islands and there is so much
incredible blue there.” This lush, silver-flecked teal is a precise
image of the ocean’s reflective, rolling waves.

The latest eyeshadow duo, a glazed apricot and radiant orange, is designed “to imitate the effect of the burning sun,” according to Nars. The sun-drenched colors allow for surprising wearability. The pair can be blended together to form a rich, burnt orange or worn in tandem with the darker orange swiped over the eyelid and the lighter apricot applied beneath the brow bone. “The colors are captivating on very fair skin like Guinevere’s [van Seenus, the face of the campaign],” says Nars, “and they look fantastic on a deeper complexion.”
