Fashion week is a little more than a week away and the excitement is building, especially for the seven designers who will be showing off their collections inside the Tents for the first time during New York Fashion Week at Bryant Park.
3.1 Phillip Lim- This
talented Orange County, CA native will be sending his gorgeous line of
American sportswear down the catwalk on Wednesday, February 6th at 5:00
pm. Look for classic pieces with a twist, draped dresses, and a fresh
attention to detail.
NYMag.com calls his look "Laid-back refinement with moments of romance", couldn't have said it better myself.
Hervé Léger by Max Azria- Sunday,
February 3 at 11:00am a new line from Maz Azria will saunter down the
runway. This will be the second time since the mid-90's that the
collection will be presented on the runway and the first time in New
York City. Herve's dresses are known for flying off the racks so I am
sure this runway show will only make them fly faster.
Iódice- The
knitwear company that was founded in the 1980's but only became an
official fashion house in 1995. The design house's carefree knits are
wearable, fashionable, and will be a hit amongst the younger crowd
during NY Fashion Week on Monday, February 4th at 9:00pm.
Araks- Lingerie
designer turned ready-to-wear designer Araks will be showing her
collection on February 2 at 2:00 pm. With past work experience
including work at J. Crew and Marc Jacobs, not to mention star
followers like Sarah Jessica Parker -- this collection is destined to
be a hit at the Tents.
Mara Hoffman- Mara
will be showing with Araks on February 2nd. Her collections are known
for having exotic designs and extremely creative patterns. You would
have to be a creative type to have names like these clamoring for your
designs: Patricia Field, Naomi Campbell, Kate Hudson, Jessica Simpson,
and Halle Berry.
Rubin Singer- On
day one of NYC Fashion Week Rubin Singer will send his ladies down the
runway to show off his seductive and beautifully designed creations.
The designer was scouted by Bill Blass and once worked for Oscar de la
Renta, so you know this guy is
good.
Malan Breton- Named
one of the 12 designers to watch by WWD (Women's Wear Daily) Malan
Breton will show his collection on Wednesday, February 6th at 9:00am.
Look out for interesting silhouettes and stunning details that make his
pieces real standouts.
