New York Fashion Week is starting out fashion month by taking its runway online with digital presentations from dozens of brands, but with shows taking place all throughout February New York Fashion Week is looking to be more like New York Fashion Month™. Even with all the changes to create a safer fashion month, the one thing that hasn’t changed is the glamorous and impressive hairstyles that graced our phone screens.

From Jason Wu's freestyle pony to Anna Sui's totally '60s glam, keep reading for the best hair trends for Fall 2021.

Jason Wu: The Freestyle Pony

The Ponytail made its way onto the runway for numerous shows (see: Prabal Gurung below), but for the Jason Wu show the Freestyle Pony took center stage along with the current favorite middle part. TRESemme NYFW Stylist Lacy Redway created bespoke looks for the models to enhance their hair saying, “I wanted to bring out every girl’s unique textures and integrate them into this look’s finishings.”

Jason Wu: TRESemme On The Runway

Using all TRESemme Products Redway preps the hair with the Keratin Smooth Heat Protect Spray before creating a middle part that she then works in by spritzing the Volume Thickening Spray. To create the curled strands around the hairline, she uses the TRES TWO Extra Hold Mousse before tying the hair into a pony with a small section of the hair-sprayed in TRES TWO Extra Hold Spray to wrap around the elastic. She finishes the look by loosening the ponytail with her fingers to create the freestyle look.

Victoria Beckham: 90's Shine

There seemed to be a bit of a decades trend at this season’s NYFW presentations, and Victoria Beckham adds to it with the 90s inspired hair of blunt fringes, wavy texture, and all-over shine. Described as a Lived in luxe the looks were created using ghd products and styling tools.

Anthony Turner was the stylist behind the looks and recommends a straightforward three-step system. The hair was prepped with the Bodyguard Heat Protect Spray that Turner says, “...ensures the hair doesn’t get damaged.” He then dries the hair with the Helios Professional Hairdryer to give the hair a shiny finish before styling with the Platinum+ Styler that helps create the natural-looking waves in the hair.

Anna Sui: Fringe Bangs All Day

Never one to shy away from bright colors and patterns, Anna Sui stays true to that in her collection this season with the psychedelic-inspired style from the ’60s that inspired R+Co co-founder Garren when curating hair looks for this show.

Anna Sui: R+Co BLEU

Garren solely used products from sustainable luxury sister brand to R+Co, R+Co BLEU to create the sleek and voluminous hair looks that were also inspired by the ’60s. For the sleek shine of the swooped straight hair, he applied the Magnifier Thickening Spray to damp hair, for maximum volume, he blows dry the hair upside down and then applies Lifesaver Volume & Texture Spray for volumized texture. For thick, curly hair Garren recommends using the Surreal Styling Serum in wet hair and then diffusing, he then adds the Optical Illusion Smoothing Oil to the ends of the hair to create separation and define curls.

Rebecca Minkoff: Free Spirited Hair

Full-bodied curls and waves are highlighted during the Rebecca Minkoff presentation this season with a dedication to the natural movement of hair and embracing volume and texture. NYFW Stylist Tyler Laswell describes it as, " Successful andconfident with that effortless, free spirit hair that looks easy, yet perfect. It’s the epitome of bohemian, rocker chic and looks gorgeously undone."

Rebecca Minkoff: TREsemme On Display

To achieve this look Laswell says to section dampened hair into medium-sized portions and then "apply the TRESemmé Volume Thickening Spray from roots to end." Lift the sectioned hair straight up and while blowdrying spritz generously the TRESemmé Dry Texture Finishing Spray. To achieve soft waves wrap sectioned hair around the barrel of a curling iron in one direction and then rotate in the opposite direction for a few seconds. Use the TRESemmé Keratin Smooth Shine Serum to add a natural sheen in the mid and ends of hair. For a final once-over and soft hold mist the TRESemmé Compressed Micro Mist Hair Spray Boost Level 3 all over the hair.

Prabal Gurung: Whip It Braid

The sleek ponytail is remastered with the long braided pony seen on models during the Prabal Gurung digital presentation. Smoothed down with not a flyaway in sight the polished look adds to the bright red, black, and white palette of Prabal Gurung's newest collection. Hairstylist Evanie Frausto uses all Bumble and Bumble to create seamless looks, edges, and waves on the models.

Prabal Gurung: Bumble and Bumble

Prime hair with the Bumble and Bumble Prep Spray to detangle and section hair, before spitting the Thickening Spray onto the individual sections. For that satin and glossy finish, blow-dry hair before pulling back into a tight ponytail. Evanie recommends aiming for the pony to rest higher than the tip of the ears. A simple three-strand braid is used to achieve this look and is then set with the Does It All hairspray and Hairdresser’s Invisible Oil. For extra sheen and controlled edges, use the Bb. Gel.
