Sandwiched between designer Michael Kors and model Heidi Klum, Posh wore a dress in the same shade as the now-infamous jump suits worn by the likes of former prisoner David Hicks.

Posh, who was seen taking notes on the designs, attended the show staged by Klum's Project Runway and later changed to attend the Marc Jacobs runway.

Australian designer Kit Willow also showed in New York on Friday with a collection of designs in muted autumn colours - greys to a rich, earthy ochre.

The latest season fashion of zippers was seen in at least one design and stunning laced, thigh-high boots were everywhere.

However, there was criticism of the lack of black models.

"What happened to all the black people on the runway?'' asked model Tyson Beckford, who attended several shows at New York Fashion Week.

"There are no blacks on the cats."

Naomi Campbell put it another way: "Women of color are not a trend. That's the bottom line."
Sean "Diddy" Combs made a statement by using only black models in his fall Sean John show on Friday.

And other black designers, including Tracy Reese, showed diverse runways.
