The yacht, named F.Diamond, docked Tuesday afternoon at the Nha Rong Port in Ho Chi Minh City.

During the F.Diamond’s four-day tour in Vietnam, the luxury yacht took passengers and FTV models to Phu Quoc Island and disembarked in HCMC where the FTV models enjoyed shopping at Ben Thanh Market.

The local beauties will go aboard tonight for two fashion displays, the first beginning at 9 p.m.

One show displayed the dress collection of domestic designer Van Thanh Cong and the other displayed an Ao dai collection designed by Thuan Viet.

Of the twenty models, the four hottest girls – Vu Thu Phuong, Thanh Hoai, Ngoc Quyen and Hoang Diep – were selected to go to Thailand to compete in one of the weekly Miss FTV 2007 competitions on November 13.

For the weekly Miss FTV contest, the model and agency each receive $500, $250 and $100 for 1st place, 2nd place and 3rd place respectively.

Models from different countries around the world board the F.Diamond to take part in the weekly Miss FTV contests.

Each week the winner and top two runners up are automatically entered into the Grand Finale which will be held at the end of the year.

The winner of the finale will receive $25,000 and a contract to be an FTV model.

One of the missions of the FTV Yacht is to promote the tourism and fashion industry of countries like Vietnam, as well as to discover new models along the way.

Thanh Long, director of the local P.L. Model Agency, represents all twenty models invited aboard the F. Diamond.

In the last few years, he claims that Vietnamese models and fashion have received more exposure on FTV.

As Long recalled, “Two years ago, FTV invited model Bebe Pham and me to Hong Kong to shoot a trailer for their F and Film program. In September FTV featured renowned designer Vo Viet Chung’s Ao dai collection.”

Bebe Pham, a famous Vietnamese model who has gained international exposure through her work with Fashion TV, was on the yacht for the inaugural FTV world tour.

Bebe is currently working in the Philippines and couldn’t be in Vietnam when F.Diamond arrived.

Bebe said, “I felt extremely happy when I was informed of Fashion TV’s trip to Vietnam. The yacht’s activities are meaningful as they offer favorable opportunities for tourism, fashion and modeling promotions in every country the yacht reaches.”

Founded in France in 1997 by Michel Adam Lisowski, Fashion TV has become one of the most widely-distributed satellite channels in the world serving more than 300 million households in 202 countries across the five continents.
